For most of the last 25 years, Russ has been Director of Information Systems for CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures in Banff, AB – the world’s first and largest heli-skiing operation, and sister companies Alpine Helicopters/Aerotech – where he managed a team of 14 software and infrastructure specialists solving unique problems. Prior to and between his two stints at CMH, Russ built and sold a business that developed software used by 500 Canadian physicians to run their practises, and consulted to companies in the energy, banking, insurance, telco and media sectors in the USA, Europe and Asia. Russ has always enjoyed teaching, spending a year on the Computer Science faculty of the University of Regina and delivering software courses for several Canadian and US-based IT companies. He is presently CTO and co-founder of the software start-up VersionRocket.

Russ enjoys skiing, cycling and paddling of all kinds. He lives in Canmore, AB with his wife Norine.
