Chief Employment Coach

Joy brings her vast experience in developmental and support services to her role at Meticulon. Joy’s dedicated passion for supporting, motivating and advocating for others has been enhanced by her educational and professional background – assets that she’s excited to bring to the Chief Employment Coach position. Joy was the Training and Recruitment Coordinator for Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region and additionally, worked to reinstate and coordinate their Volunteer Program. Joy’s an experienced Training Facilitator whose goals go beyond just providing education as she believes in creating awareness to the community as a whole. Besides developing, organizing and facilitating workshops and presentations, Joy also travelled throughout Ontario as a train-the-trainer educator. An integral part of the recruitment aspect of her role was to interview, and hire, respite and support workers as well as give presentations at various universities and colleges, community events and conferences. Joy’s enthusiasm was so passionate and contagious that the response derived from her audiences consistently delivered enough applicants to fulfill the agency’s needs and beyond.

Joy also has years of experience in the social service field where she was involved in outreach and support work, led support groups and provided supportive counselling with adults who had a range of developmental abilities or mental health concerns. After the birth of her children, Joy also extended her family home to include supported roommates. Joy is inspired by Meticulon’s vision and feels it’s a great fit with her philosophy to focus on people’s abilities.
